Cockenzie, UK. 14 April, 2018. Site of the former Cockenzie power station in East Lothian, Scotland. A row has begun over concerns about the Scottish government’s decision to “call in” a planning application by Red Rock Power to build a renewable energy sub-station on the site. Red Rock Power, part of China’s largest state-owned investment fund, the State Development and Investment Corporation (SDIC), wants the the sub-station to allow it to feed power from the Inch Cape offshore wind farm, near Angus, into the national grid.
