Forth Road Bridge opens to all traffic, South Queensferry, Scotland, UK

South Queensferry, Scotland, UK. 30 January 2020. Queensferry Crossing bridge closed and Forth Road Bridge opened to all traffic this morning as temporary traffic diversion experiment is carried out. Highway operators are investigating the feasibility of diverting traffic from M90 from Queensferry Crossing onto the Forth Road Bridge at times when the Queensferry Crossing has to close because of ice on the cables for example. Extensive traffic management works are required however because no direct traffic access points were constructed between carriageways on each bridge.
