Beltane Fire Festival ushers in summer on Tuesday 30th April with a spectacular display of fire, immersive theatre, drumming, body paint, and elaborate costumes. Described by some as the “medieval Burning Man”, this alternative May Day celebration re-imagines the ancient Celtic festival with roughly 300 volunteer performers for thousands of spectators from all over the world on top of Calton Hill in Edinburgh . Pictured the May Queen in the fire arch.
